Radia TAMARAT
Radia Tamarat is a research director in the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ASNR) and recognized expert in the field of stem cell therapy for the medical management of accidental radiation exposure. she has been conducting preclinical and translational studies to evaluate the therapeutic potential of stem cell therapy in overexposed patients. More recently, her research has expanded to the identification of biomarkers for radiation exposure and radiotherapy-induced complications, with the goal of improving diagnosis and prognosis, and advancing new clinical applications in the context of radiation accidents.
She serves as head of the IAEA Capacity Building Center and the WHO Collaborative Center, she contributes her expertise to international missions, delivers specialized training, and offers consultancy and advisory services to national and international authorities on the medical management of radiological accidents (IAEA & WHO).
